William Clark.  One half of the famous Lewis & Clark co-captaincy that lead the Corps of Discovery up the Missouri river through the newly acquired Louisiana Purchase, and on to the Pacific Ocean from 1804 through 1806.  The pair left on their historic journey from St. Charles, Missouri. St. Charles hosted a “Signature Event” in the Bicentennial celebration of the Corps of Discovery.

Meriwether Lewis.  One half of the famous Lewis & Clark co-captaincy that lead the Corps of Discovery up the Missouri river through the newly acquired Louisiana Purchase, and on to the Pacific Ocean from 1804 through 1806.  The pair left on their historic journey from St. Charles, Missouri.  An annual Rendezvous is held by re-enactors each year in St. Charles’ Frontier Park to commemorate this era in St. Charles history.
